To get more followers on your Facebook page nowadays, when the channel floods with insights, is not an easy task. You need to have a to-do list of time-tested methods to boost the process. Facebook is a social media channel teeming with people and it can become the best online home for your business. It gives your business one major benefit – a free online presence – and many opportunities to extend its influence beyond your existing connections.

The State of Facebook Today

Facebook encourages marketers to think of their Page as a “digital storefront” that allows real Facebook fans to discover your business. As of the third quarter of 2021, Facebook had 2.91 billion monthly active users, which makes it a network far too big to ignore.

Number of monthly active Facebook users worldwide as of 3rd quarter of 2021 (in millions).

According to Backlonko, Facebook adds over 500,000 new user accounts every day, which equals 6 new profiles every second. Additionally, Facebook’s current daily active user growth rate is around 7.8% year-over-year, down from 12.9% in 2018.

Why You Need a Facebook Business Page

I can’t stop saying that Facebook has a lot to offer. The main benefit of creating a Facebook company page is that it’s free and versatile. You can connect with customers, advertise, share information, use many free page tools and insights. It has analytics, where you can track the efficiency of what you do.

Additionally, current opinion-makers and influencers in online marketing believe that social is the new SEO. It’s good to remember that Google crawls social websites for data just like it crawls any other website. This can lead us to the assumption that the pages we have on social can influence our website’s ranking in the search engine. Therefore, a Facebook page not only personalizes your relationships with the audience. The more people share it, the better is Google’s opinion of your brand’s website. To gain more authority, it’s essential to get more Facebook followers.

why you need a Facebook business page

On the flip side, Neil Patel’s investigation has shown that “you may only be able to generate only 2 visitors a month for every 100 followers you have, but that scales as you grow your social following on every network.” What is the actual lesson we can learn from all this data? It seems there is no sense in leading your Facebook business page without expanding its reach to more followers.

Invite Friends to Like Your Page

Friends will likely become your first real followers on Facebook after you create a Facebook page for your business. You can kindly invite them to like and follow your page and Facebook will encourage you to do so. After you invite a certain number of people, their friends will see it in their feeds and visit your page as well. Make sure that you have a little bit of enticing content before the invitation takes place. You need to capture your potential follower’s attention and the best way to do it is with thumb-stopping content.

PromoRepublic has a library of premade posts and can help you create great visual content in its Editor, so you won’t have to spend too much time on your first steps. It will also allow you to schedule content for automatic posting, suggesting time slots that work best for specific types of content during the week. It’s a good tool to explore before you start working to increase followers on Facebook.

To make your colleagues’ friends express genuine interest in your page, post photos of your team and newcomers whenever they get the job. You can also do it through PromoRepublic.

Find Followers on Facebook Groups

One free little trick that really makes you gain Facebook followers is to become a member of Facebook groups as a page. Then everything you post will appear under the name of your page and your logo. You’ll be able to interact and discuss things as a page and, believe me, people will immediately visit your page once they see something new. In fact, you’ll be able to invite anyone who engaged with your post:

how to invite people to like your page on Facebook

To get accepted into a group on Facebook and pass moderation, you’ll need to fill in some information about yourself and follow its rules. But it’s worth it. Imagine your discussion or post goes viral in the group and gets more likes than you expected. It will immediately reach thousands of people whom you’ll be able to invite to follow your page.

Here’re some of the best practices when Facebook groups come into play.

  1. Choose to become a member of the group from your business page.

joining a Facebook group

  1. Post content you think best fits the group’s interests.
  2. Don’t overspam – publish only relevant and good content.
  3. Ask questions and participate in the discussions. A group full of people will definitely express interest in your business page.

Post at the Right Time

Posting at the right time is an effective way of getting more likes and shares on Facebook and expanding the reach of your page to new horizons of followers.

In April 2019, Zephoria collected information and updated a study saying that a spike in Facebook users’ activity falls on Thursdays and Fridays. The overall engagement rate tends to be 18% higher on Thursdays and Fridays, compared to other weekdays. Also, learn when to post on Facebook based on your specific niche:

Partner with an Influencer

You don’t need to find Facebook followers manually and spend most of your time asking people to follow you. If you have a business page, partnering with an influencer in your field is a no-brainer. But don’t be misled by a huge number of followers influencers have, rather find someone whom people trust the most. Check the activity under the influencers’ posts to determine if their followers are real and if there’s trust.

There are three types of influencers, according to Social Media Today:

  • Mega-influencers are famous people that have millions of followers.
  • Macro-influencers have between 100K and 1 million followers.
  • Micro-influencers have fewer than 100K followers.

You don’t necessarily need to partner with a mega-influencer, even micro-influencers who have fewer than 20K followers may have great engagement rates. To find an influencer, you can do a manual search or use tools like Social Bond or LeadFuze.

Ask People to Tag Your Page

Getting Facebook page followers doesn’t stop with all of the steps above. In addition to them, you can ask people to @tag your page whenever someone shares your post.

To be efficient, this method should go together with a call-to-action for people to follow your page, though. Otherwise, it just brings more traffic to your website. Here’s a kind of a private message you can use to ask people to tag your page:

Hi! It’s Irene. I’m a big fan of what you do on social and the fact that you shared my post really flatters me. Could you please @tag my page as I’m trying to grow my following? Keep up the good work and let’s get in touch in the future.

To get the attention of influencers, you may want to tag them in your post. Just put @ mark (without space), start printing the name in the text box until Facebook makes suggestions, and then choose the appropriate name. If the name you’re referring to gets bold, you’ve done it right.

Use Automation Tools to Gain Followers on Facebook

If you’re in the Facebook boat, you’ll need to keep your posting schedule consistent. But it’s difficult to outperform competitors in terms of post ideas and visual content especially if you’re a young business or freelancer. To kill two birds with one stone – post frequently and post great things, sign up to PromoRepublic. This smart social media tool has many things a marketer needs to build a presence on social. Let’s face it – brands have to live up to their audience expectations.

A real estate agency is a complicated business. Its services are not always clear to the client. And if you work as a realtor, trust is even harder to gain. A real estate agency needs to earn trust, talk about its work, and thus attract new clients. This is where content marketing comes in.

Go to the accounts of real estate agencies — there is often boredom and gloom. The official tone, the bureaucracy, the copying of news… That is why the audience reacts extremely sluggishly to the posts of the big agencies. And the social networks of specific realtors sometimes resemble quotations of the laws, and they also are often boring. We’ll tell you a secret: realtors do not have to behave like that on social media.

You can do it in an engaging, lively, and rewarding way because social networks with millions of users are a significant generator of orders, including for a realtor. In addition, social networks are a great way to promote their services to a younger generation of buyers: millennials are already buying homes and make up 38% of all buyers.

And today we’re going to tell you how you can diversify your content plan with interesting and engaging publications. Meet our top ideas for real estate social media posts!

What kind of social media posts work best for real estate?

What does a realtor need to show when communicating with an audience on a social network? They don’t have a visual portfolio with pictures, like an interior designer or a hairdresser. But when working on a content plan, a realtor can plan and show:

Experience. This is a difficult profession for newcomers; therefore, the path in the profession begins most often with an internship, older friends pass on expertise, technology and share their tips. And already, at this stage, a realtor has a lot to tell.

Opportunities. Someone takes only simple cases: the purchase or sale of real estate for “real” money. And someone collects complex chains, using when buying housing maternity capital, military and social certificates, helps sell/buy the share, etc. The broader the capabilities of a particular specialist the more clients he can get from social networks, telling in posts about his work.

Reviews. This is the alpha and omega; if clients speak well of you, their reviews need to be lifted and carried high like a regimental banner. Reviews should appear as often as possible in a Realtor’s content plan because this is a profession where the level of trust is not very high. There are too many amateurs in the marketplace!

Demand. “If a specialist sits for months without orders, there is clearly something wrong with him,” social network users think, and in some ways, they are right. People at all times buy apartments, get married, get divorced, move out with adult children and move in with elderly parents — which means they buy and sell apartments. A realtor needs to talk in posts about what they’re selling/buying/renting right now.

The point. “Why do we even need a realtor?” is a frequent question from everyday people. Usually, those buying new construction or selling their trouble-free apartment for living money stand for self-sufficiency in real estate transactions. It’s important for a realtor to show situations where you can’t do without the help of a pro and explain why. Be sure to include posts that answer this question in your realtor content plan.

Yourself. People buy from people. It’s crucial that the realtor in their social network account looks not like a faceless unit with a set of functions but as a living person. With all of his or her household trivia, family problems and holidays, hobbies, interests, travel, and plans.

Let’s look at real estate social media posts ideas to attract new clients and increase sales.

Welcome post

The welcome post is a self-presentational text. It is needed to tell why the author maintains his social network profile, how he came to success or other facts about himself. Such a publication will also be useful for a real estate agency or realtor to promote themselves. It makes the author closer to his subscribers, increases trust. And for the brand-customer loyalty.

There is no universal variant of the welcome post. Each author decides for himself what he wants to tell and in what manner. But there are some standard pieces of information that can be written about in a welcome post:

  • Name, age, place of residence
  • Occupation
  • Experience
  • Hobbies
  • What you will write about in your profile
  • Encourage subscribers to tell about themselves in comments

This is an option for a realtor, but the option for a real estate agency will not be much different: tell about your agency and experience, what publications you will post, a call to meet in the comments. You can experiment with this format and add storytelling.

Feedback

Each realtor’s transaction can last for months; the higher the value of feedback from clients — because each of them has gone side by side with the specialist for a long and often tricky stretch of the road of life. Such clients can tell a lot about the professionalism and personal qualities of the realtor. Take screenshots of the reviews, and if the client wrote about you on their page — repost the review. It’s reviews that work best for building a realtor’s reputation and increasing their credibility. You can write anything you want about yourself — but you can’t write reviews from real people and about real work.

Services

What does a particular realtor or real estate agency charge for? In the posts, you can tell about such services:

  • Buying an apartment in a new building — commissioned or under construction.
  • Buying/selling an apartment on the secondary market.
  • Buying/selling rooms on the secondary market.
  • Buying/selling commercial real estate.
  • Buying / selling a share in the apartment/house.
  • Purchase/sale of countryside real estate.
  • Sale of apartments in one city and purchase in another.
  • Rent an apartment/house.
  • Commercial rentals.
  • Legal support of the transaction.

Descriptions of services in the content plan of a real estate agency on Instagram or Facebook are essential because they will help every new visitor of the page understand where they got to and what useful things can be found here.

Answer clients’ questions in publications

An effective way to get real estate social media posts ideas is to identify questions that interest your target market. Services that identify the most trending topics can help you find those questions. The most popular one is Google Trends.

It’s a free tool that generates a list of questions based on your keyword search. For example, if you type in “New Jersey Apartments For Rent,” questions generated from this search might include:

  • Is it worth buying an apartment in New Jersey?
  • How much does it cost to buy an apartment in New Jersey?

Also, use Google’s “People Also Ask” feature and a Chrome extension called Keywords Everywhere.

You can also make a list of questions that your customers or followers often ask or even create a dedicated FAQ column.

Publish videos

Video, video, video — no serious material about social networks can do without them. And it makes sense: there is more and more of this content, and the audience is consuming more and more of it. Videos are supported on all platforms, and we told you how this format works on the main social networks.

For example, you could create a video of you doing a tour of a new apartment. This will get you closer to your audience and also promote your services. You can also, in video format, answer frequently asked questions from your clients or subscribers. Educational content is very much appreciated on all social networks!

Don’t forget to upload videos to the platform itself rather than post a link to YouTube to get a better reach. For example, you can do this through PromoRepublic

Organize a contest

This is the best way to increase your real estate agency’s visibility and gain a new audience. Regardless of the size of your agency, you always have something to raffle off. But, of course, you need a good idea to make the raffle a success. You can choose a free consultation with a realtor or just a certificate to a restaurant as a prize.

In addition, an important part will be the mechanics of determining the winner: you can arrange a photo or video contest, use a unique hashtag, not just asking people to sign up and leave a comment.

You can also have a quiz in the same way, either on your industry topic or just on related subjects. For example, ask your followers questions about the history of certain neighborhoods in which you work.

Use live streams

Another engaging content format is live streaming. For example, on Facebook, users spend three times as much time watching live streams as they do watching recordings. And Instagram is a great platform for live streaming, as all subscribers are notified when the broadcast begins.

Not sure what to broadcast about? You can host a Q&A session, announce new services or talk about a new apartment sale. Live broadcast sessions like these are something you should do regularly to stay focused on your subscribers. Check out our top 10 Facebook live session ideas, for example.

Most importantly, don’t forget to publish posts about having a live stream. By the way, you can also save and publish it as a video afterward.

Real estate market review

There is always something going on in the real estate market — either movement or stagnation; falling prices or rising prices; or a “seller’s market” when there are more buyers than apartments for sale or vice versa. Analytical material is often published about the real estate market and can be used to prepare posts. This is a great idea for real estate social media posts. And, of course, it is very desirable to draw on your own experiences and observations. To make this kind of post not so monotonous, you can purposefully narrow the subject. For example:

  • What’s going on with the real estate market in New Jersey.
  • Overview of the market of one-bedroom apartments — looking for the cheapest offer.
  • Oakland — price trends for Q1 2021.
  • Overview of the elite housing market. What is for sale and how long.
  • New homes in Edgewater, Chicago.
  • Manhattan. Where prices are rising and where prices are falling.
  • An overview of two-bedroom apartment prices.
  • How the price difference between one-bedroom apartments, studios, and private houses has changed over the year.

Failures or strange cases

It’s easy and fun to share successes, but a story about mistakes and failures provokes a much more lively discussion. There are many failures or strange cases in everyone’s life; realtors and real estate agencies are no exception. Examples:

  • You were selling an apartment but never managed to sell it.
  • The client wanted something strange, and you had to refuse the deal.
  • The client changed their mind at the last minute and refused to buy or sell.
  • You were offered to sell a bad haunted house with a good commission — you declined.
  • You advised something good and useful (for example, buy an apartment a little more expensive, but without the difficulties and complicated documents), but the client did not listen and got problems.
  • In the apartment you were selling, there was a safe in the wall with strange contents.

Make a series of posts about entertainment venues

The price or choice of an apartment or house is influenced not only by the location or number of bedrooms but also by developed infrastructure and entertainment venues in their area — restaurants, clubs, cinemas, etc.

Websites like TripAdvisor can help you find reviews of places in your area. You can also search Instagram posts by relevant geotags to read reviews by local bloggers. Add a video plan or short notes to your content to help your potential customers learn more about what’s interesting to find in the area where they’re looking for a place to live.

You can even write reviews for your posts yourself — just visit a local coffee shop or restaurant close to the home you just finished doing a tour of. People love first-hand reviews!

A few things to keep in mind

When creating a content plan for a realtor and maintaining a professional social media account, the most important thing is a systematic approach. Not to disappear from social media for six months, but to talk systematically about your work, the real estate market, and tips to help sell/buy a house…

Accounts whose content is engaging, interesting, helpful, and the author is close to the audience generate a flow of leads.

Keep an eye on your competitors and study their content and presentation style. The accounts of successful realtors can give you dozens of ideas for posts.

Generating content can take up most of your time. Automate your work with a reliable service like PromoRepublic. This tool helps you generate content, set up auto-posting, and choose the most profitable times.

The bottom line

So, you have already realized that SMM is a great way to promote real estate agencies and realtor services on the Internet. And there are a lot of options for how to do it. Experiment with content, use all the ideas or a few of them — the main thing is variety!

We hope you enjoyed our real estate social media posts ideas! Good luck!

Facebook Messenger Ads is one of the most effective ways to tell people about your brand, product, or service. More than 200 million businesses use different Facebook tools to connect with customers and exchange more than 20 billion messages monthly with Messenger users. That’s why investing your resources into Facebook Messenger Ads to convert users is an excellent move. But let’s start from the very beginning and dive deep into using and optimizing it correctly for the best results.

Social media icons in abstract shape background with scattered thumbs up. Concept in ravishing vector illustration.

What is Facebook Messenger Ads

Ordinary Facebook ads invite people to click and check out your website or landing page. The thing is, they can be costly, and you won’t get detailed information about your visitors. On the other hand, Facebook Messenger Ads are a paid method of promoting your Facebook posts. It invites people to open a Facebook Messenger conversation and start communicating, leading to a cascade of engagement. To help you handle it, Facebook Messenger ads rely on chatbots that can easily start a dialog and lead your potential customers further down the funnel.

If you’re going to use any of these advertising options, make sure that you got someone to cover your back when the conversation gets going. The main use of these ads is to generate real, organic conversations with your customers. Once you’ve made initial contact, you have the opportunity to personalize your customer service and tailor the experience for each particular user. Ignoring a chatty customer can harm your brand’s reputation, and you don’t want that to happen.

Why You Should Use It

So, why exactly should you invest your marketing budget into Facebook Messenger Ads? What are the key aspects and advantages that you need to know about?

Fast response time

Customer support is moving towards messaging, and if you are not using any live chat service, you risk losing a lot of conversions. It’s no secret that responding to a potential lead faster will only increase your odds of closing a deal. According to The Harvard Business Review study, if you don’t respond in the first five minutes of a customer reaching out to you, you decrease your odds of converting them to a lead by 400%.

In today’s world, the standard response time is only shrinking, so you need to respond ASAP if you want to find success when driving sales and qualifying leads. Nobody wants to wait four days to get a response, and that’s why messaging apps have started to surpass social networks in their usage.

Personalize ads

You can send personalized messages to users who you aren’t connected with and land them straight in the user’s inbox, except you can’t target non-brand-aware users – meaning you can only do this for people who have interacted with your ads previously. And this is a good thing because otherwise, it could be a really creepy experience. Sending a personalized message gives you a better shot at starting conversions than a basic remarketing ad.

Better local targeting

If you want to build localized brand awareness, there is no better way than Facebook Messenger Ads. A new “Local awareness” feature can help you create newsfeed ads that drive huge waves of engagement. Find a specific local audience depending on where your business is located and determine who will see your ads. You can come up with specific offers that people can use at your local business and reach customers that live nearby with deal-based conversion offers.

Start conversations easily

When you can’t simply ask users to convert instantly, you need to start a casual conversation and assess their needs and interests. You don’t want to spend two weeks talking to a lead before finding out that they don’t even care about your brand or product. Facebook Messenger Ads can help you find a perfect balance between ads and real sales conversations. Instead of instantly asking prospects to buy your product, asks them to message you directly and chat about it a little. Let them see if it’s really a good fit, rather than expecting to know immediately. Regular remarketing ads simply can’t provide such a personalized user experience.

How to Set Up Facebook Messenger Ads

It’s a relatively simple task, and all you need is a Facebook Business Manager account and a few minutes of your time. But first of all, you need to have the “Messages” if you want to be able to use the Messenger placement fully.

To use the Messenger Ad objective, choose the “Messages” campaign objective under “Consideration.”

After this, choose which messaging apps to enable. You can choose between two options:

  • Click to Message – allows you to create sponsored messages with new customers.
  • Sponsored messages – allows you to reengage existing customers who have already messaged you.

To set up a Click to Message Ads:

  1. Choose Click to Message in the Ad type list.
  2. Choose which apps you’d like to enable.
  3. Choose visuals, write a headline and a CTA.

If you only have a Messenger and Instagram Direct profile, you can leave WhatsApp off the list. Facebook will automatically take each user to the app, where they’re most likely to start a conversation based on their past app usage.

You can choose if you want to send people to chat with another Page and customize your call to action. The default CTA is “Send Message,” but you can write any of the standard CTA options that you would with other campaigns.

To set up a Sponsored Message Ads:

  1. Choose the messages objective.
  2. Choose “sponsored message” placement.
  3. Create the Ad & enter in quick replies.

You can include an image for this type of ad or skip it. Standard best practices would be to include an image that would draw the attention of your target audience. Once you write the copy, don’t forget to add some quick replies. These are also clickable prompts you can create to help users to continue communication.

Facebook Messenger Ad Examples

Less than 2% of the entire website traffic convert on their first visit. Reasons may vary from not being interested in a product, high price, lack of research, or not building enough trust with a brand. Messenger ads are perfect to use at the top of your funnel to build authority and create trust between your brand and target audience.

Here are a few examples of great Facebook Messenger Ads.

Conclusion

Facebook Messenger Ads allow you to personalize communication with customers and reach people faster than ever before. Instead of spending even more money on ads, you can deliver custom messages to your target audience in the form of messaging-based ads. Reaching a customer in several minutes is crucial to qualifying a lead, and personalizing those messages can help you build loyalty. Also, Facebook Messenger Ads it’s a great remarketing option and a tool for fast local targeting and local brand awareness. It’s great for starting conversations that are otherwise hard-to-obtain.

You may have noticed from our previous posts that all sorts of holidays are a great reason to diversify your Instagram feed. And this time we’re going to talk about an occasion like Labor Day.

Labor Day is a national holiday in the United States, celebrated on the first Monday of September. Traditionally, Labor Day in the United States is celebrated by most Americans as a symbolic end of summer and to pay respect to the achievements of American workers. On this day, Americans go camping, hosting their much-loved outdoor barbecues. Labor Day was first celebrated in New York State in 1882, and you can read more about its history here.

Now we’ll get to the more educational part, namely Labor Day social media posts ideas!

Idea #1. Celebrate the successes of your employees

First of all, the meaning of Labor Day is to celebrate the achievements of workers in all kinds of spheres. Show who’s behind your business! It would be a good idea to write about how you all worked this year and what you have planned next. Also, if you will be throwing a party for your employees, share a couple of photos from there. It will make you more human in the eyes of your audience.

Idea #2. Say hello to fall!

The second thing to keep in mind is the beginning of the fall. Many Labor Day social media posts are about that. It’s a good idea to post beautiful fall scenery around your office, fall still lifes with your products, or even a meme saying something like “Bye, summer! Hello, fall!” This will really diversify your followers’ feed and add bright colors to your profile.

Idea #3. Barbecues are always a good idea

Source: https://www.instagram.com/p/CE2hZf8h6Dg/

For many people, Labor Day is first and foremost a barbecue. Remind Instagram users of this glorious tradition. Post photos from last year’s barbecue on this day with your employees. It’s also a good move to ask your in-house designers to prepare beautiful grill-themed cards or animations. The Instagram audience loves such Labor Day social media posts!

Idea #4. Barbecues are STILL a good idea

This idea follows logically from the previous one. Offer your followers interesting or unusual barbecue recipes. This is an excellent idea if you have a restaurant business. If you are a food producer, you can offer some recipes using your products. And don’t forget that your audience can be very diverse. Don’t ignore the vegetarians and vegans among your followers — share a few recipes for them, too! This will give you an image of an inclusive brand.

Idea #5. Don’t forget about football

Labor Day marks not only the arrival of fall. It also marks the beginning of a favorite fall pastime in the United States: football season. On this day, you can relate your publications to this theme. For example, you can hold a themed promo, post a cool animation with soccer players by your design department, or a funny GIF. If your company has football games between employees, it’s a great idea to post a photo or two from these events.

Idea #6. Be patriotic

Labor Day is a great source of pride in Americans. On this day, you can choose to be especially patriotic on social media. Don’t hesitate to actively use the American flag in your Labor Day social media posts. True patriots will appreciate your move!

Idea #7. Quote someone famous

Famous people quotes are one of those types of content that users like a lot on Instagram. Post a themed picture with a quote about labor. Many famous people have said a lot of interesting things on this subject. And finding their inspirational quotes won’t be difficult. Here are our top favorite quotes:

  • “No man needs sympathy because he has to work, because he has a burden to carry. Far and away, the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” ― Theodore Roosevelt
  • “God sells us all things at the price of labor.” — Leonardo da Vinci
  • “Without labor, nothing prospers.” — Sophocles

Idea #8. Dedicate your post to an important topic

Source: https://www.instagram.com/p/COnXIWIhmPk/

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen that we are surrounded by real heroes — doctors, couriers, volunteers, and others. Their work over the past two years has been challenging. So Labor Day social media posts are a wonderful opportunity to thank them once again for their hard job and remind your followers how important it is to work together to defeat the pandemic.

Idea #9. Happy long weekend!

Labor Day is also a day off in the United States. In your post, you can wish your subscribers a happy long weekend. If your business has something to do with leisure or recreation (e.g., hotels, cafés, amusement parks, etc.), invite your audience to visit you. Your followers will especially love it if you offer a good holiday discount!

Idea #10. Suggest alternatives

Clearly, not everyone celebrates this day by barbecuing. And not even all of your subscribers will have the day off. So you can always devote your Labor Day social media posts to alternative ways to celebrate the day in an unusual way or what you can do after work. Instagram users love the variety!

Well, that was our top 10 ideas for Labor Day social media posts. We hope they help you diversify your Instagram feed! Good luck!

In 2021, almost everyone has encountered the live-streaming tools available on almost every major social network. We’ve all seen (or even hosted) Instagram and Facebook live streams. But so far, not many of us have thought about how convenient, high-quality, and, most importantly, affordable this is — a new way to interact with your audience and increase their engagement. If your company has never held a live broadcast with your audience, or if you’re looking for new formats for this type of interaction, the text below is for you. Today, using Facebook Live as an example, we’re going over 10 effective ideas for live broadcasts that will help increase engagement with your audience.

1. Hold a Q&A session

Q&A sessions are convenient and probably the easiest live streaming option for the company. Why? It requires little or no preparation from you. You can publish a Facebook post about the upcoming session in advance and ask your followers to write questions that interest them so that you can prepare answers in advance. Or you can improvise and let the audience ask questions right during the live stream. The second option is, in many ways, even better, as it makes your brand more human to your customers. And that, in turn, greatly increases your credibility.

A great example of such a session is the Q&A Facebook Live stream with Tom Holland for the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” promotional campaign. We’re sure this video will inspire your first Q&A session.

2. Tell the audience how to use your product or new ways to apply it

You may have noticed how popular tutorials are on YouTube. Often they are done by bloggers. But why entrust this work to others? No one can tell you more about your product than you. For example, if you develop video editing software, show your audience unusual ways to use some of its features. DIY videos can also fall into the same category. If your product is a blender, for example, hold a Facebook Live stream with your audience and show them what dishes they can make with it.

As an example, here’s a live stream from Lightricks, where their representatives showed how to create beautiful photos with their Enlight Photofox app.

3. Tell about the launch of the new product

Facebook Live is a great platform for informing your audience about new product launches. You can greatly increase your views and gather a large audience by turning your presentation into a full-blown event, albeit in an online format. On the other hand, after 2020, we’re used to that, aren’t we? Tell your followers about the upcoming live stream in your other videos or Facebook posts to create intrigue. And you can talk about the product’s features and even demonstrate it in action on the air — customers can trust you, of course, but they’d still rather know what they’ll be paying for first. With the help of PromoRepublic, you can not only create engaging posts for any type of event but also schedule them and manage your comments and feedback!

Vehicle manufacturers have long been among the leaders in terms of the scale of their novelties presentations. BMW streamed their presentation from the Paris Motor Show on Facebook Live to launch their new motoring concepts, achieving phenomenal results: 278 thousand views, 10 thousand reactions, and 806 shares.

4. Behind-the-scenes

Don’t want to limit your marketing efforts to your product? Do a behind-the-scenes live stream via Facebook Live. Show your audience the life of your office, where decisions are made, production, or the actual process of working on the product (if it’s not forbidden). People love to watch behind-the-scenes because that makes them feel connected to the company and the larger community.

The Dunkin Donuts case remains one of the brightest examples of using this format in live-streaming so far. For National Donut Day, the company hosted a live stream on Facebook Live where they showed exactly how they make their famous donuts, from the dough to the glaze.

5. Have a contest or giveaway

You may have done this kind of activity before through Facebook posts. Now try doing it on Facebook Live. With a time limit, you can significantly increase audience engagement and views. Contest options come in a variety of forms. You can choose a winner using randomizer and user comments. You can also ask the audience to guess the answers to the questions or come up with creative headlines. The most creative person gets a prize.

So, as part of the promotional campaign for their “Grand Slams” breakfast range, Denny’s held an unusual live stream that featured an animated pancake. They held a quiz on Facebook Live, which resulted in branded prizes for the winners. It was a win-win situation: the company itself received 13 thousand views, 831 reactions, and 71 shares!

6. Host a live-streaming event

If you’re hosting a conference, event, or even just a team-building with colleagues offline, it’s a great reason to do a live broadcast on Facebook Live. It’s not only an opportunity to attend an event for those who can’t do it, but also a way to build a strong connection between you and your audience.

For example, take a look at this broadcast from Coca-Cola: the company held a broadcast from its Christmas Truck Tour, which pleased the users and allowed them to feel a part of this huge event.

7. Organize an interview

A non-trivial but very interesting idea for Facebook Live is an interview with a charismatic speaker. This can be an employee of your company, a celebrity, or a guest speaker with whom you can discuss trends and forecasts in your industry. You can also have a Q&A session with the speaker as part of your interview and let the audience ask their questions.

The New York Times, for example, hosted a Facebook Live broadcast of their interview with Sofia Coppola and Kirsten Dunst, during which viewers could also interact with Hollywood stars.

8. Entertainment Content: Experiments

Videos of experiments are incredibly popular on the Internet. But pre-recorded videos no longer impress the audience as much as live experiments. And, besides, this kind of content attracts a new audience!

Entertainment content professionals Buzzfeed conducted a very simple but incredibly entertaining experiment on Facebook Live: they decided to test how many rubber bands a watermelon would hold. We won’t tell you the final number but will provide some equally exciting numbers: 11 million views, 53 thousand reactions, and 17 thousand shares!

9. Do a crash test of your product

Many of your customers may have already seen the reliability of your product more than once, but most likely, none of them knows yet how reliable it really is. Do a live crash test and let the audience suggest ways to “test” it.

Without further ado, just look at this crash test that Lenovo conducted with its ThinkPad X1 Yoga laptop on Facebook Live. The results speak for themselves: 5,2 thousand reactions from 86 thousand views.

10. Promote your product without promoting it

Come up with an entertaining format in which you can use your product. But there’s an important rule: don’t talk about your product and its price! You’d be surprised, but it really works and increases indirect sales.

For example, Ikea had a live stream of their Christmas show on Facebook Live, where the hosts had to come up with 100 holiday tips in 100 minutes. During the process, they used Ikea products, which could be considered a type of product placement. It looked seamless, interesting, and the audience was absolutely delighted!

So, those were 10 ideas on how to increase views and audience engagement through Facebook Live. Of course, not all of these ideas are equally useful for all companies. One thing’s for sure, though: using at least one or two of them will have a significant impact on your online presence!

Social media management and scheduling can sometimes be controversial topics. Over the years, there’s been a question about whether posts scheduled on social media networks via third-party tools like PromoRepublic decrease engagement or reach. The answer is NO.

If you’re still here, let’s dive a little deeper and get into the details.

Recent findings confirm that third-party apps have no effect on a post’s performance, so high-quality and engaging content will perform well on social media anyway. No matter if it’s posted via an app or natively through a platform. Using social media management tools will not harm your organic reach on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, or any other social network.

Yes, it won’t improve your reach either because it’s the same as posting natively.

The key thing here is the time you save by working with several or dozens of customer accounts at once. Planning your content in advance can help your channels to be more consistent and allow you to be more strategic. Moreover, creating and scheduling your social media content in advance can lead to better quality content and improve your stats by finding the perfect time for publishing.

While using such tools as social media scheduling doesn’t mean that you don’t need to respond to comments, engage in conversations consistently, and generally nurture your following. Being reactive and implementing social media automation may sound opposite, but they both work in a very complimentary way.

So, should you be worried about third-party social media management tools hurting your stats? This myth was probably born on Facebook, on far 2011, when the platform really was limiting the reach of posts from third-party social media management tools. Many brands noticed that they got lower reach and engagement numbers because of this. But since late 2011, Facebook fixed this issue, and their algorithms started to treat posts published via third-party social media management tools the same as native posts.

Yet, the myth still lives.

By now, multiple independent sources have run a variety of social media experiments that destroy it. And now it’s safe to say that if there were a noticeable difference in reach, someone would have noticed it by now.

Brian Peters at Buffer recently did an in-depth experiment to determine whether using a social media marketing tool hurts organic reach. He compared the reach and impressions of posts published from three third-party social media tools to posts published natively. The test included over 200 posts from 35 different profiles and took place over a three-weeks.

Here are the results:

  • Facebook reach
    • Average native posts – 8820
    • Average third-party posts – 9071
  • Twitter impressions
    • Average native posts – 21671
    • Average third-party posts – 21108
  • LinkedIn reach
    • Average native posts – 6071
    • Average third-party posts – 7024

In some tests, posts made via third-party tools had a higher reach than native posts, and in some tests, they had lower. But the fact of the matter is that none of the results in these tests were statistically significant. So, it is obvious that Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter are not penalizing anyone for posting from third-party SMM platforms.

Useful Tips

  • Don’t write for robots

Sure, you can schedule your content, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it, but you still want your content to be interesting, useful, and relevant. So, remember that there are people on the other side, not just Google or other search engine algorithms. Post about different topics and make your content vary. Also, try not to post every hour or\and schedule your publishing exactly on the hour. And the main thing here – stay online when posting something that prompting a conversation with your audience. It’s great to post text with questions or topics to discuss, but you also need to engage with the process.

  • Keep your hand on a pulse

Scheduling your content comes with a whole range of benefits. But you still need to keep your topics up to date and relevant. So, monitor interesting and fresh topics, search for new trends and get involved wherever you can. Creating content on some hot topics will make your posts more popular, engaging, and valuable to your audience. Also, you can try to predict something that can become trending and schedule your content in advance. For example, some major holidays or events. You can find it in our social media calendar and even use our library with a lot of templates for every occasion.

  • Check your statistics

If you want to keep your brand successful and growing, you need to constantly check your content performance and use this information for future edits and improvements. For example, find which posts got the most likes, comments, and shares and find out why to make more of such posts in the future. Many analytical tools will be able to show you this kind of analytical information, allowing you to get the ready-to-use results for your social media marketing experiments.

The best time to post on social media needs to factor in the social platform you are using and the time zone most of your target audience are in. We will talk about average times, but you can check your statistics and check when your followers engage the most. The best way to find out your best posting time is to experiment with it. For example, you can use social media management tools to plan and schedule your posts at different times over several weeks or months to determine which times tend to work best with particularly your audience. With PromoRepublic you can easily create your social media calendar, create posts using our library, and schedule them with the help of AI.

Also, don’t forget to check your competitors. You can track their progress and see the exact time when their posts get the highest engagement rates. Similar tactics can probably work with your pages, so test them out too or post your content when they are generally quiet. Remember to check each platform separately for the best results because each of them lives by its own rules.

1. Common Rules

  • Posting Consistency Is More Important Than Posting Frequency

Aim for consistency when posting on social media, create a plan and stick to it. For example, if you think that your social media post frequency should be two posts a day on Facebook, you know you need content to fill that schedule. And your followers will know that they can expect two fresh posts every 24 hours if they visit your page. If you want to attract new people, you need to have something valuable for them to digest.

  • Content Quality Is More Important Than Content Quantity

Not posting anything at all is often way better than posting low-quality and not relevant content. Don’t try to post something just to fill a slot in your schedule. This is how brand loses their fans and followers. This works exceptionally well in times of coronacrisis, where you need to focus on making your content as useful or engaging as possible, providing facts or sweet distraction. If you want to create relevant social media content, you need to focus on the principles of helpfulness, authenticity, and quality so that the posts will make sense to people engaging with them. Pandemic influenced time when people go online, so brands need to consider if there are still lockdown measures in countries where their target audience is.

  • You Can Only Understand if Your Posts Are Successful if You Have a Clear Objective for Social Media

That rule is pretty obvious. Especially if you’re an agency, you surely want to confirm your plan with your clients before publishing content on their behalf. Because if you don’t know why and what you are posting, you can’t understand if your goal is achieved, whether to get more brand awareness, drive traffic to your website, or sell a particular amount of your product or service.

  • Tailor Your Content to Suit Each Network

Don’t just copy and paste your Facebook or LinkedIn posts to Instagram or Twitter. That won’t work. Instead, think of which types of content are best suited to each social media network and start from there. For example, if videos get higher engagement on Facebook than images, then use it. Change up the copy, hashtags, and emojis for each post. Tailoring will take a little longer, but you want people to see only high-quality content.

  • Engage With Your Audience

Posting content is a monolog, but social media is all about talking and being reactive. You will need to be available to join in the discussion when people respond to your posts. The quicker you can react to posts and comments, the more active and human your brand will seem, and the more your community will grow.

2. Time Zones Matter

Some brands and influencers send out the same message at different times to hit all the time zones they are working with. The thing is, the more popular your business is, the more time zones you’ll likely need to take into account. If you want to reach most of the time zones without overdoing it, it is a good idea to send no more than four same messages in one day with a different scheduled time. By doing this, you can reach as many countries as possible.

For example, if your target audience is located in the United States and\or Canada, you need to aim at the EST time zone. It has the highest number of people, thanks to Toronto and New York. If your followers live in London, you want to post within the GMT time zone. Try to use analytic tools to find out where your customers are located. It can be built-in tools of the social media platforms themselves or external applications.

3. Best time to Post on Facebook

Facebook is the most used social media platform in the world, so its 24\7 engagement is not a surprise. There were only several completely “off” times for Facebook in the past year, and the most successful periods are early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

These were the times when the content got the most engagement, and brands had an opportunity to attract the most eyes to their posts. Keep in mind that a large part of any engagement statistics is based on US Central Time, so it shows engagement in traditional US workday. That’s why it reflects Facebook’s significant global audience, and that is the reason why Facebook is great for brands running an international or multi-location strategy.

It could be almost an overwhelming amount of content to plan, but keeping these peak times for when to post on Facebook in mind can help you make the most out of your content calendar.

4. Best time to Post on Instagram

Past year Instagram continued to create new things like Reels, new Stories features, and some Explore page updates. So it was a perfect platform to communicate with your audience during the lockdown measures and after it. Show some top-quality visuals, start a dialogue by asking people questions in posts or stories, or just educate followers writing about brand and industry in posts. The crucial part of getting maximum engagement was social listening, when you know exactly what people want to see because they are constantly talking about it on the platform.

Also, because of coronacrisis, midday engagement became a thing. People could stay at home and scroll through the feed almost anytime. Peaking times were about 11 AM and 2 PM. Evening and weekend also got higher and opened even more opportunities for brands to get engagement.

Instagram is an excellent platform for businesses to branch out with their content. You can improve your visual identity with high-quality photos or highlight your brand’s graphic mastery by showing what infographics and data reports you’ve created for content. All previous year people wanted to stay connected, so Instagram Live also became a more popular format of communication which was used a lot.

5. Best time to Post on LinkedIn

As a professional-focused social media platform, LinkedIn has become highly engaging. Content here gets more views, likes, shares, and comments during the working days more than on weekends when engagement drops more significantly compared to the other social networks. Taking into account how much LinkedIn content is centered around professional thought leadership and career growth, it makes sense that a vast majority of users are getting the most out of it during their working day.

As we know, LinkedIn continues to be more specialized in target for employee advocacy campaigns and recruiting. It is also becoming equally important for a wide range of content creation for B2B, and any brand can utilize LinkedIn marketing best practices and highlight wins as a company and culture. It’s an ideal fit for employee advocacy and empowering people to advance their personal brand or professional development as they post content to their profiles.

6. Best time to Post on Twitter

In 2020, this forge of news and memes was the first place where people were trying to get any COVID or US Presidential Elections info. Short content format is perfect for news, so Twitter is always focused on information accuracy and trending topics all around the world. Want to discover all the newest things going on? That’s the right platform.

Through all the pandemic times in 2020, this platform remained high in engagement rates all weekdays with even more activity in the evenings. The reason is news and updates about things that were going on and also viral Tweets and memes. Except up-to-the-minute news people can get here, they can easily reach brands through fast communication and mentions in posts or replies. So, if your business is ready to react fast, to start a dialogue at any time, and to deliver high-quality costumes service, this social media platform is a perfect place.

7. Best time to Post on Pinterest

If your brand’s target audience is mothers, then it’s the best place for your content. They form a big group of Pinterest users engaging with tons of content every day. That’s why the best time to post it is mostly later in the week and the evenings.

We hope that this post will help you get more engagement on your posts on listed social media platforms. Don’t forget that constant monitoring your accounts, analyzing statistics, and active social listening will help you improve communication between your brand and your target audience. We shared some common rules, but only you know how to do it best in your industry and with your followers. Facebook has 2.79 billion users globally, and 2\3 of them visit local shops at least once a week. So, why don’t you use this excellent opportunity? Leading the e-commerce business has never been simpler. You can set a business page in a few clicks and then create a shop on Facebook to bring your products to the target audience. The great thing about it is that you don’t need the actual website to sell goods. Social media has empowered small businesses to spend less effort and resources on selling and getting money faster and easier.

Benefits of Opening a Facebook Store

Before jumping to the actual steps, let’s first answer a question as to what a Facebook store is and why you should use one. Facebook Store is a specific online page with the roll-out of your products through which you can reach a broader customer base and allow them to make a purchase. It is also referred to as a Facebook Shop, so don’t get confused, as it’s literally the same thing.

Opening a Facebook shop, you’ll need a graphic design tool to create pictures for your products. Try PromoRepublic, and it will surprise you with the combination of content creation and social media management features.

Creating a shop on Facebook has many advantages for self-starters. You don’t need the actual website to sell goods. But if you have one, Facebook helps you generate more traffic and grow your customer base. The typical way to use a Facebook shop is to link to the website where the buyer will finish the purchase, but some retailers allow you to buy directly from Facebook.

The key point is that Facebook’s Shop tab is free for all users, and you can set it up in less than 15 minutes. Moreover, once you have a Facebook shop set up, you’ll be able to start tagging any of your products featured in your images. This ensures that everyone who views your posts will become aware of the products you have available.

How to Sell on Facebook Business Page

Selling products through Facebook business pages is easy and fast. Generally, there are two ways to do it:

  1. A primary way is to create a Facebook Store with product listings and connect payments directly to the platform’s cart. It means your users won’t need to go outside of Facebook to buy a product, and you won’t need to use external platforms.
  2. Or, you can use an e-commerce website, like Shopify, and create a web store there. Thus, you’ll be able to link the products on Shopify to your Facebook Store page.

How to Create a Facebook Shop

Creating a Facebook shop isn’t the most difficult task. On the contrary, it’s pretty easy. All you need is:

  • A Facebook account
  • A Facebook business page

Apart from the two requirements, your Facebook page must also adhere to the following:

  • Sell physical items – this means there’s no way to sell digital or downloadable products from your Facebook Shop page
  • Agree with Facebook’s Merchant Terms
  • Link to a valid bank account (US-based stores)
  • Have a tax identification number (US-based stores)

1. Add a Shop section to your page

To add a Shop section to your Facebook business page, go to your Facebook business page > Settings > Templates and tabs > Add a Tab > Shop (Click “Add Tab”). Once you’ve added the tab, click “Settings” (of the tab) and ensure the tab is turned on.

2. Agree to Facebook’s Merchant Terms and Policies

Facebook’s Merchant Terms and Policies will appear after you click the Add Shop Section button. Don’t forget to read them carefully before agreeing. They might include useful information about what you’re allowed to sell on Facebook and how you should solve any problems that appear with return and refund policies, for example.

3. Select Checkout Method

Once you agree to the terms and policies, you can select the type of checkout you prefer. In other words, choose your payment method when opening a Facebook shop. Generally, there are two checkout methods on Facebook – Message to Buy and Check Out on Another Website. Message to Buy means that a buyer will be able to purchase the product by sending you a message. The other option allows you to send people to other e-commerce websites, from where they will complete their purchases.

Choosing the second method means that you’ll have to add a URL to Shopify, or another e-commerce website when adding a product and filling in the underlying form.

4. Choose the Currency for Your Shop and Hit Save

Have you decided on the payment method? It’s time to choose a currency that will appear on the product description after you add it completely.

IMPORTANT: If you chose the wrong currency or want to change the checkout method, you need to delete your shop and create it up again. All the goods and services added to the shop will be deleted too. To delete your shop, click on the Shop Tab and find gear icon in the right up corner and choose Delete.

5. Describe What You’re Going to Sell

Congratulations! Now you can fill in some general information about the products you’re selling and add them to the shop. A little box will appear, where you can describe what you’re going to sell, in 200 characters.

6. Start Adding Products to Your Shop

After you’ve added a little description of what you’re going to sell, you can add your first product. This is doable only from your computer and you can only sell physical products, according to Facebook guidelines. The box you’ll see will look like this (in case you’ve chosen Message to Buy as your checkout method). You’ll see completely intuitive and user-oriented on-screen instructions. The form requires adding a photo, name, price, description, and visibility of your product. Also, there are some other toggles you can play with.

But here are some rules and best practices to complete your Facebook online store. You won’t be able to publish a product without adding at least one photo. Please note that customers will be happy to see more than one. The best dimension for a photo would be a square image of 1024 x 1024 pixels, according to Facebook’s recommended photo guidelines. You can set the right size and create your product picture in PromoRepublic’s Editor:

It’s also possible to add a video of your product.

Let’s see what you can do next.

  1. Clearly, put down the name of your product.
  2. Fill in the price. You can mention only one price, but if you decide to choose “This product is on sale,” you can change it. This way, your clients will see how much they save.
  3. Describe your product or tell about its advantages in short sentences, preferably with bullet points. Avoid company-specific information. Don’t use URLs or emojis, both will be broken in the description. According to Facebook, the descriptions cannot contain phone numbers, email addresses, long titles, excessive punctuation, all letters capitalized or in lowercase, book or movie spoilers, or external links.
  4. In Edit Options, you can add options describing the size and color of your product.
  5. There, you can also choose your shipping information and policy.
  6. After you click the Save button, Facebook begins to Process your product. It may take up to 24 hours to review if it complies with Facebook policies.
  7. Share the product on your page. When you have created a product, you can publish an announcement telling people what’s new in your shop. If you add many products, it’s better not to share them on the page all at once. You will be able to do this later.

7. Add Collections

If you want to sell many products of different types, Facebook allows you to create collections with them. Categorized collections make navigation easier for buyers and improve the shopping experience. This feature becomes visible when you’ve already added some products. The next thing you’ll have to is to create create a name for your collection, add products, and choose “Feature this Collection” to make it stand out in your shop. Nordgreen, a Danish brand of watches, for example, has collections of women’s and men’s watches separated on their Facebook online store. Check it out:

8. Change the CTA Button

Facebook does a lot of things automatically and setting your CTA is no exception. It creates your call to action button on the right corner under your background image that leads to the shop on your page. Famous brands like Tiffany & Co. use a simple message in their CTAs: Shop Now. However, when you’ve set up a store on Facebook, you can easily change the CTA button and even link your website to it. It’s up to you!

9. Promote your Shop

You are fabulous. Your shop is ready. Now it’s time to get people to know about your shop and products.

How to Promote a Facebook Shop

Adding your shop to a Facebook page isn’t enough. Don’t forget to tell the world about it to streamline purchases. In general, there are three possible ways to spread the word about your intention to sell goods or services. You can share the entire shop, separate products, and even collections.

To share your shop on Facebook, choose “Share your shop” on the right top corner, add some text, and voila! If you run several pages or groups and think other followers will be interested in your goods – choose different pages and post on them as well. This post’s link will be active. Your clients will be redirected either to your Facebook shop, or real one when they tap on a visual. Every time when you have special offers, new arrivals, or sales – share your shop with clients. Here’s an example:

You can also share a specific product, but to do it, you’ll need to tag it in your post. Select the last item under the text box and type your product’s name or ID. It’s as simple as that!

Don’t forget that collections are also shareable in the Facebook shop section. They’ll appear nicely in the form of a Carrousel when shared.

It’s all set. If you want to create a better shopping experience by letting fans and followers purchase directly on your page, you will need to use third-party applications to integrate payment methods. If you are located in the US, you can do this on your own, but you will need to update your goods on your own, as well.
